Hello 2017!

tv happy fun party birthday

Happy New Year! It's the first day of 2017!! In addition to whatever resolutions we've made for ourselves personally, we also have a list of things that we want to work on blog-wise for 2017. So without further ado, here are our 2017 resolutions for The Book Bratz! (In no particular order!)

1. Keep up with our review archive! We really mean to do this, but we schedule our posts in advance, so they get posted while we're in classes or sleeping or spending time with family. We do that because we don't have time to sit and publish them right away, which means we don't have time to add them to the archives either. We need to make time for that!

2. Tweet the links to our posts each day! We try to do this every day, but it goes back to us being in school and running errands and stuff and sometimes we just FORGET. We've been using TweetDeck lately, which has been super helpful, and it's been making things a lot easier, so we want to keep up with that.

3. Be more active on Twitter in general! School has been kicking our butt lately, but we've been trying to make time to sit on the blog's Twitter account and interact with you guys, enter some giveaways, and check into the community more often.

4. Read and review more books! We go through stages with this blog: We are speed demons that read so fast we schedule reviews for months in advance, and then we slump and then barely do three posts a week. A major goal is to have something to post every single day in 2017 and keep the productivity streak going. Especially because college has been so hard on us, we want to be able to schedule in some more reading time.

5. Comment on more blogs! We're not even going to be coy about it -- we're terrible at checking other blogs, reading content, and commenting back. We don't mean to be -- but when college takes up so much of our time, we're already struggling to read and write our own posts. We don't get very much time to sit and scroll through other sites -- which is something that we need to make time for in 2017.

6. Read more backlisted books! Seriously, I read so many ARCs. I have an issue with requesting. My eyes are bigger then my ability to read and I get swamped and have no time. Which brings me to my next resolution:

7. Request less ARCs! They are all published eventually. I don't have to click the request button on all of them. Seriously, I would take a lot of stress of my back with dead lines and all! (Amber)

8. Make blog improvements! Amber's big goal is to become more familiar with graphic designing and HTML to edit the blog. "I get bored with layouts easily, and it would give me a lot more freedom to keep things fresh on here!" Jessica and Emily want to be able to read more and make more time for the blog.

9. Put up more College Diary posts! In addition to posting book-related things, we think that it's important to keep you guys updated on what's going on in our personal lives in regards to college. We did a few posts about this, but we want to do them more regularly, so you guys can actually be up to date with everything.

10. Go to more book events! Our BookCon 2017 tickets are already ordered, but being able to attend even more book events this year would be tons of fun.

So that's it for our New Year's Blogging Resolutions! What are yours? Comment down below and let us know - and have a happy and amazing New Year, everybody! We love each and every one of you and are so grateful for the success and love you have shared with us for the past few years. We love you and this community forever and ever! Here's to another great year together!

happy new year new year new years eve forrest gump new years

*We've adapted this from our 2016 resolution post template since some of our resolutions repeated, so this is why some things may sound a bit familiar!

  1. I also want to be more talkative on Twitter. I have made that my resolution a few years in a row and I never follow through.
