Happy National Novel Writing Month!

The time is finally here! November is upon us, which means that it's National Novel Writing Month is officially upon us. If you're new to the scene, NaNoWriMo is a month-long challenge in which writers pledge to write 50,000 words of their novel. The month is filled with games, challenges, online writing sessions, broadcasts, sprints, and more!

Which leads us to our question -- will you be participating this year? Working on a new story? Finishing up another? Not officially participating but going to try to get some writing sessions in? There are so many different ways that people can participate in NaNoWriMo, so find which way works best for you!

As for us -- with school and the holidays coming up among all of 2020's chaos, we aren't sure that we'll be able to get to it this year. Jessica was really excited to participate but is currently working on editing a draft of another manuscript, so she didn't have any time to prep. Plus, she just started her MFA program, and things are starting to pick up in her classes, so she's busier than expected! But she has another story idea bouncing around in her head that she plans on using for NaNoWriMo 2021. And one day, she really wants to attend the Night of Writing Dangerously!

That's all for today -- let us know what you decided to do to participate! And if you're not participating and instead will be joining us on the sidelines to cheer on our friends, let's get to it!

  1. I'm doing NaNo this year! Except I'm planning instead of drafting, but still attempting to hit the 50k word count. This week was particularly stressful and I got a few days behind, but I'm determined to catch up and get back on track!
