So, you want to start a book blog and you don't know where to start. This is completely normal. Starting a blog is an overwhelming feeling, there is so much you need to know that you don't. We are hoping with this new series that we will be able to help new bloggers navigate the blogging world!

Congrats on starting your new blog! Today we are going to talk about blogging platforms. There are two main ones that are typically used: Blogger/Blogspot and Wordpress. Both platforms have something the others offer and will fit your unique individual blogging wants/needs.

Blogger Features:

  • Easily customizable templates
  • Easy to access stats
  • Scheduling posts in advanced
  • Free
  • Multiple admins/bloggers can be added to one blog
  • Mobile
  • Widgets
  • User friendly

Here is a super helpful article that I found about blogger that can give you some more insight into this platform and its features:

WordPress Features:
  • Easy to use
  • Custom domain (.org .net .com)
  • Custom Design
  • Stats
  • Blog Support
  • Mobile
  • Plug Ins

For example, The Book Bratz is a blogspot blog. We have been using blogger since day one and love it. But we have tons of blogger friends who love Wordpress better. Ultimately the choice on platform is yours. Each of these two services offers things that the other does not, which is something to keep in mind when choosing.

We hope that this helped clear up a little bit of your confusion! If you have any questions please drop them below and we will try our best to answer them to the best of our ability. Keep in tuned for the next post in this series!
