Summary:
Before she can become the greatest empress in history, fifteen-year-old Sophie will have to survive her social-climbing mother’s quest to put her on the throne of Russia—at any cost.
Imperial Court holds dangers like nothing Sophie has ever faced before. In the heart of St. Petersburg, surviving means navigating the political, romantic, and religious demands of the bitter Empress Elizabeth and her handsome, but sadistic nephew, Peter. Determined to save her impoverished family—and herself—Sophie vows to do whatever is necessary to thrive in her new surroundings. But an attempt on her life and an unexpected attraction threatens to derail her plans.
Alone in a new and dangerous world, learning who to trust and who to charm may mean the difference between becoming queen and being sent home in shame to marry her lecherous uncle. With traitors and murderers lurking around every corner, her very life hangs in the balance. Betrothed to one man but falling in love with another, Sophie will need to decide how much she’s willing to sacrifice in order to become the empress she is destined to be.
In a battle for the soul of a nation, will love or destiny reign supreme?

How am I going to fit all my feelings into this review without making this into an essay? Queen of Someday was an interesting read full of love and betrayal that will leave you wanting more. I am so excited to see where the Stolen Empire series will go.

The story is about fifteen year old Sophie, who is from Prussia. She is sent to Russia to be betrothed to the future emperor, sixteen year old Peter. Simple enough right? No. Sophie's goal was the capture Peter's heart and live out the rest of her life as the Empress, forming a treaty between her beloved Prussia, and Russia. Never along the way though did she expect to fall in love with someone other then Peter, nor did she ever expect any of the betrayal and lies she would be faced with. Queen of Someday is full of twist and turns, capturing your attention and never letting you go.

Sophie is amazing. Generally I felt bad for her though. Sure, she is going to get to marry a handsome Duke, but doesn't she get a say in who she will spend her life with? Sophie makes the best of what she has and is given, even when things sour and she must do things to protect herself and those she loves. She is strong and I admire her character for that. Never would I have the courage to do half of what she does.

The book was a little slow at times but then it picked up. I'll admit, there were moments where my eyes teared up. But the story was so beautiful and heartbreaking that I couldn't help it! Plus, there were two extremely attractive guys, and a duke! The book was an emotional roller coaster (at times) for me. Three guys. One girl. Betrayal. Falling in love. Got my point?

Queen of Someday is a book I adore. Those hesitant on reading historical fiction, I think you will like it as well as I did. October 2015 is the set release date for the second book in the Stolen Empire series and I am really excited to see if it will be as good as this one! (Though I know it will be!)

RATING: 4.5
