Wait, what?
We turn ONE today?!
It is crazy how fast a year goes when you are doing something you love. When we first started The Book Bratz, it was a hobby and something we weren't expected to get so invested in. Now this is our full time job and we don't regret a minute of it!

People We Want To Thank
All of these lovely people helped us with starting out as new bloggers, making friends, running all sorts of events, and just welcoming us into this lovely community!
To any one else we missed - We love you all and would have never made it to where we are without your help and kind words!
A Personal Message from Amber:
I am not good at writing my feelings down, but it is shown through my actions about how much a love blogging and the blogging community. I originally thought I would let my anxieties get in the way of me and enjoying this, and I didn't. I am grateful for every single person who visits, comments, and chats with us daily/weekly. Thank you to everyone who dealt with my stupid questions, and stupid things I have said. I can't wait for the years to come with blogging! :)
A Personal Message from Jessica:
Wow, I really can't believe that a year has gone by with The Book Bratz. I remember how scared and awkward Amber and I were in the beginning, and how worried we were that this was just going to be one of those failed attempts as a teenager to make something cool. You know, those awesome ideas that seem to work out perfectly in your head but aren't executed as smoothly in real life.
Boy, were we wrong. The Book Bratz has grown and prospered, gained followers, friends, and supporters. We've had giveaways, met people from all across the world, traveled to BookCon, met some of our blogger friends in real life (like Dana!), hosted our first Summer Blogger Promo Tour, our Debut Author Spotlights, our infamous Bloggers and Authors Appreciation Post, and so many other awesome things. Running this blog has actually steered me towards a career in publishing for my future, and I could not be more excited about this.
Like we said in the beginning of this post, this blog was started as a hobby. Just a way to talk about what we love. Now it's our save haven, our project, our internet baby, and the full-time job that helped me decide what to do with my future. I could not be more thankful for all of the amazing people who have supported our blog back when we only had 100 Twitter followers. We're growing and prospering every single day and it's such an incredible sight to see. I used to never picture myself running such an important thing on the internet, but now I can't imagine my life without The Book Bratz. I would just like to thank everyone for that. Because without you, Amber and I wouldn't be where we are. You made us this successful and you help us grow every single day. So thank you. :)
What would a blog birthday be without PRESENTS?
To celebrate The Book Bratz's first birthday, we're having TWO awesome giveaways! To be fair to both our US and non-US followers, we will be having one giveaway for US followers only, and another giveaway for International followers only! The separate giveaways are both a little bit different, so please make sure you enter for the correct one and read what each prize is! (For the US only giveaway, ONLY United States Citizens are allowed to enter. For the international giveaway only, anybody who is NOT a United States resident - AND Book Depository MUST ship to your country - is allowed to enter.)
U.S. Only
We are giving away a prize pack of 1-3 mystery books, swag, and some other awesome goodies!
International Only
One (1) follower outside of the US will win their choice of a book up to $18 from The Book Depository
Once again, we would like to thank all of our readers, followers, authors, and blogger friends that have supported us for this past year and helped us grow into what we have become. We have another great year ahead of us and can't wait to share the experiences with all of you!
Congrats & thanks for the giveaway! I've been blogging off and on since 2009. I love people's comments the most.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on one year!!! WOW, you guys have done so much in that time and it's awesome! I can't wait to see where the blog goes next :)
ReplyDeleteI like it when bloggers make their own opinions when reviewing a book, rather than being biased by others' reviews. I also really like it when the reviews are interesting, instead of plain and boring. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy first year! *tosses confetti* ^-^
Happy blog birthday! x
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS!!!! I've been blogging since October!
ReplyDeleteI love reading book blogs as I can find out about new books and read reviews for them.

I've been blogging for 6 months now, so I guess you could say I'm not the most experienced blogger, but it's been just enough time for me to fall in love with this whole community! ReplyDeleteI have been blogging since 2009 but as a book blogger I think since late 2012/early 2013? But you ladies are doing a much better job than I am!! *round of applause*
I'm so bummed that we probably won't be able to meet since you cannot make it to BEA and I won't be staying for BookCon... =(
Congrats on 1 year! It is crazy that I met you two of a year ago! Good luck for another amazing year. I can't wait to see all of the amazingness you two have in store!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your one year blogaversary! I'm so grateful to have you guys as friends. I think my blogging experience would have been a lot different had we not met. Love you guys and to another great year of blogging! :D <3
ReplyDeleteHappy 1st year blogoversary, Amber & Jessica! Mine is merely days old. My first post was last May 3. I have neglected my love for reading for a long time and I thought writing about what books I've read will boost my reading drive and it did! Well I am fairly new so I don't have a lot of experiences yet but my favorite part is having interactions with other bookish people. :)

Congratulations! I'm a reader not a blogger. I find that most bloggers are really nice people and super friendly, especially book bloggers who are always ready to chat!
ReplyDeleteI'm a reader.. I love bloggers because most of them are really friendly :)
ReplyDeleteHappy blogoversary, girlies!! It's been such a pleasure getting to know you lovely gals <3
ReplyDeleteMy blog, Books For YA!, is turning 3 this June and in the past 3 years that I've been blogging, my favorite part would be meeting fellow book bloggers and authors. The book blogging community is one of the friendliest and most supportive group I've seen so far, and I'm so happy to be a part of it.
ReplyDeleteHappy 1st Blogoversary and may you have more blogoversary to come! :D
Happy Blogoversary! Your blog is one of the blogs that inspire me to made my own blog. Now, I've been blogging for around 6 months, and I'm pretty addicted to blogging! My favorite part in blogging would be knowing others bloggers and authors. They're just the best! :)
ReplyDeleteI love reading about book signings and interviews and seeing that these authors are just normal, but awesome, people too!
ReplyDeleteI've been blogging for nearly 2 months now, and I really enjoy connecting with other bloggers, via twitter, goodreads, and their own blogs :)
ReplyDeleteI've been blogging for four months now, and what I like most about it is that I could get my thoughts out and share it to a lot of people, and that my ideas would reach someone who also feels the same way. I get to connect with a lot of people through blogging. More than that, I've also met a lot of book friends online and I wouldn't have found them if it weren't for blogging.
ReplyDeleteHappy blogaversary! That's so awesome that it's been a whole year. :) I've been blogging for almost three years now (my goodness how the time flies). Here's to another wonderful year! My favorite part about blogging would be sharing the love of books with others. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the one year!! I've been blogging for almost 2 years or so now. Time just keeps on flying by!!
ReplyDeleteI've been blogging for 2 years in August! It's my Blogaversary then and of course I shall be holding a giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteI love our mutual love for books.
