Anya Anderson doesn’t just need a big break, she needs any break. Living on the streets doesn’t leave a girl many options, so when she scores a gig reporting on the Seconds to Juliet tour, she jumps at the chance to earn enough money to sleep somewhere safe. And the paycheck will get bigger—and keep her off the streets for good—if she can dig up dirt on Will Fray, the irritatingly hot “shy guy” of the band. Problem is, Will Fray isn't who everyone thinks he is. In fact, he’s not Will at all. Matt, Will's identical twin, is actually the guy onstage, reluctantly covering for his brother while he’s in rehab. To make matters worse, Matt’s being shadowed by a cute reporter with troubled eyes determined to get the scoop. On him. And he's having trouble finding the willpower to keep his distance... But if the secret gets out, it won't just be his head on a platter—it’ll be the whole band's.
Teaser #1He slid out of the bus and found Hanging On. He pulled the manual handle on the outside of the bus and sneaked in. He should be a spy. Carefully closing the door, he wondered what his opening should be.
Come here often?
What’s a nice place like you doing in a girl like this?
Maybe he should just kiss her awake. Except that felt a little...wrong. Besides, he wanted her awake when he kissed her. Wanted to feel her lips meet his, her mouth open for him, her skin as he touched her neck—
Suddenly the bus lurched as it took off. Her eyes widened as she lost her balance and fell right at him. Instinctively, he reached out to steady her, but he half rose from the sofa and banged his head on the sloping ceiling. He fell back and took her with him.
“Ouch. Are you all right?” she asked, frowning.
Anya was in his lap, virtually astride him. Nothing would ever be better.
Teaser #3He gazed again at Anya in the mirror, cold trickling through him. He had just a matter of days with her, and then he had to disappear, leaving her to think she was in a relationship with Will. He’d started off wanting to have a bit of fun with her. But he’d gone beyond that. He’d fallen for her. He’d kissed her. And in the end, he would have no choice but to abandon her. Or try to. The thought of Will taking up where Matt had left off turned his stomach.
Probably shoulda thought this one through better.
